Ingredients:
1 teaspoon dark sesame oil
1 cup diced onion
1 pound tofu (pre-boiled for 15 minutes
½ cup toasted sesame tahini
2 tablespoons dried wakame (soaked for 5 minutes and diced)
½ tablespoon Nutritional yeast
Following add amounts to your taste:
Tamari sauce
Basil
Oregano
Black Sesame seeds (for garnish)
Method:
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add onions and cook until translucent. 2-3 minutes. Set aside.
- Preheat oven to 350° F (175°C).
- Lightly oil a casserole dish and set aside.
- Process tofu (crumble) and tahini in a food processor until smooth and creamy.
- Transfer to a bowl and mix with the cooked onions, soaked wakame, and tamari, basil, and oregano to season (be generous, taste as you go).
- Spread mixture evenly in casserole and sprinkle with lots of black sesame seeds.
- Cover and bake for 35 minutes.
- Remove the cover and bake for another 10-15 minutes, until the top is browned.
- Serve with quinoa pilaf and steamed greens.
